Holding multiple nationally recognized certifications across emergency, trauma, pediatric, and critical care nursing, Spencer consistently goes above and beyond to support patients, colleagues, and the broader healthcare system.

Spencer recently started a new role and will now focus exclusively on teaching, Monday through Friday, while continuing to contribute his expertise to the nursing profession.

Previously, Spencer served as an emergency department staff nurse and part-time charge nurse, where his leadership extended beyond the bedside. He is known for advocating for both patients and fellow nurses, contributing to trauma care improvements, and developing meaningful educational initiatives that strengthen clinical practice and team performance.

Raised in Throckmorton, Texas, Spencers healthcare journey was deeply influenced by his parents, both Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMTs). Inspired by their dedication to emergency services, Spencer began working at his local rural hospital in a variety of roles, including housekeeper, laboratory assistant, phlebotomist, EMT, and later as a per diem nurse. These experiences shaped his versatile skill set and instilled a strong appreciation for community-based, resourceful care.

Spencer earned his Associate Degree in Nursing from Vernon College in 2022 and joined Hendrick Medical Center shortly thereafter. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas at Arlington in 2024 and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing Education at the same institution, demonstrating his commitment to advancing nursing education and professional development.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Spencer is a recognized leader in the nursing profession. He chairs an organization-wide trauma committee, serves on unit-based councils, and actively participates in educational initiatives, sharing his expertise through in-services and presentations. Licensed to teach Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC), Spencer is dedicated to elevating the standards of nursing education.

Spencers involvement with the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) has further fueled his passion for nursing advocacy. After attending Emergency Nursing 2024, he became engaged at local, state, and national levels, contributing to Texas ENA Council committees focused on trauma, pediatrics, and policies. As the president-elect of the Staked Plains ENA Chapter for 2026, he is poised to influence nursing practices and community health initiatives further.

Balancing advanced education with hands-on clinical practice, Spencer Jackson remains focused on research, curriculum development, and improving patient outcomesmaking a lasting impact on emergency nursing and the communities he serves.
